How do I become a member of Good Shepherd?
We’re so glad you’re interested in becoming a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church! Whether you’ve been attending for a while or you’re brand new, we believe that becoming a member is a meaningful step in your faith journey—a way to deepen your connection with God and with our church family. Here’s what to expect:
Your first step is to fill out a Connect Card, available both online and in person at any of our Sunday worship services. This simple form lets us know you’re interested in membership and helps us stay in touch. You’ll share a bit about yourself—your contact info, family members (if applicable), and anything you’d like us to know as we begin getting to know you better.
After you’ve filled out your Connect Card, we’ll reach out to schedule a one-on-one meeting with one of our pastors. This is a relaxed and welcoming conversation where you’ll have a chance to:
Share your story and faith background
Ask any questions you may have about Good Shepherd
Learn more about what it means to be a member here
It’s a great way for us to connect personally and help you feel at home.
Our New Membership Orientation is typically offered a few times a year and is open to anyone considering membership. During this session, you’ll:
Explore the core beliefs and values of the Lutheran tradition
Learn about our mission and how we live it out in daily life
Discover ways to get involved in ministry, service, and community life at Good Shepherd
Share a delicious potluck meal with fellow church members and new members alike!
Whether you’re new to the Lutheran church or have been part of one before, this session is an encouraging, informative experience where you’ll meet others on a similar journey.
4. Be Welcomed into Our Church Family
Once you’ve completed the New Member Orientation and are ready to take the next step, we’ll joyfully welcome you as a member during a Sunday morning worship service. It’s a special moment of celebration where we recognize new members, pray together, and give thanks for all God is doing in our community.
